Vail is easily accessible from east and west using Interstate 70. Vail is about 99 miles west of Denver and only 34 miles from the regional airport in Eagle, Colorado.  Most guests fly into Denver International airport and either rent a car or take a mountain shuttle. Directions to Vail, Colorado Vail is located about 99 miles west of Denver and about 34 miles east of the town of Eagle. Interstate 70 is a scenic and direct drive to Vail from all directions. For driving conditions, we suggest visiting CDOT.org or GOI70.COM. Directions from Denver International Airport Vail is due west of Denver, Colorado about 2 hours from Denver International Airport. Take I-70 west to exit 176. Directions from Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) Vail is approximately 34 miles from the Eagle Regional Airport. Use I-70 and go east to exit 176 and look for the Vail Village and Lionshead Village signs to locate your specific hotel or condominium complex.  Bus Service Town of Vail Buses are FREE and run regularly between the eastern end of Vail Village and the western end of Lionshead on the in-town route. Scheduled buses to East Vail and West Vail run frequently as well. The town's NextBus system gives you immediate real-time bus arrival information from any stop on Vail's outlying bus routes.
