Information for: Condo 402 at The Wren in Vail CO NON-SMOKING CONDO AND BUILDING--- NO PETS ALLOWED CHECK-IN: 4PM CHECK-OUT: 10AM Address: 500 South Frontage RD E., unit 402, Vail CO 81657 ALTITUDE SICKNESS--Drink lots of water. Due to the high altitude, it is very important to drink lots of water and to stay hydrated throughout your stay. It is best to start this process a day before arriving into Colorado and to continue the routine throughout your trip. It is also a good idea to avoid alcohol and caffeine for the first few days. Altitude sickness can spoil your vacation and it can also cause you to get light-headed and to pass out. It can even require a trip to the Vail Medical Center, if severe. So drink water several times daily and advise all guests staying with you to do the same. PARKING--Condo 402 has a reserved parking space in the underground parking garage. It is located on the lower bottom level of the garage and is marked as space 402. There are also a few additional guest parking spaces located on the top deck of the garage. You will need a guest-parking pass from the Wren’s front office to use one of these guest spaces. UNIT 402 FRONT DOOR / ACCESS CODE: 8320--There is a keypad on the front door, “THE WOOD DOOR”, NOT the white medal door. Enter the code 8320 and turn the knob clockwise. You can now open the door. Once inside, turn the knob clockwise to lock deadbolt. TO LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE--Note: When leaving the condo, you must manually lock the door. Enter the same code: 8320, then turn the knob counterclockwise to lock. If you have any problem using the door or lock, please call rentVAIL.  SKIS & SNOWBOARDS STORAGE--This condo has an outside ski locker – the white door to the left of the entrance. The code to enter the ski locker is: 0906. Enter the code and the door is unlocked. When you close the door, it will lock automatically. There are also some storage options in the Vail Village and at Golden Peak if you prefer to keep your equipment closer to the lift areas. Please do not bring skis and snowboards into the living area or the bedroom of the condo. INTERNET ACCESS--THE WREN AT VAIL: CODE: wrenvail2 CONDO TEMPERATURE--There are two (2) thermostats in the condo. One is in the main hallway above the light switches, by the kitchen, which heats the main living area. There is one (1) in the master bedroom that controls the heating unit under the bedroom window. The controls pads are easy to operate. There is an “on/off switch, a light and up/down temperature adjustments. The heaters are very efficient and they heat the unit well. It is recommended to keep the overall temperature as low as possible to avoid dryness and more importantly to help limit dehydration. (Note: the fireplace also puts out some heat, so, be mindful of overheating. LOFT AREA & STAIRCASE--There is a staircase to the loft area. Please proceed carefully up and down the stairs and hold onto the railing. Very young children should be carefully supervised in the loft and when using the stairs. There is a sleeper sofa on the main floor as an additional sleeping option- (blanket and comforter for the pull out sofa is stored in the coffee table large top-hinge storage area). TV / DISH Satellite--There are 3 TV’s in unit 402. The Wren uses “DISH” as their vendor. There are instruction sheets in each room on how to use the remotes. Here is a brief summary to help. Living area TV: Use the Dish remote only. Press the small red “tv” button near the top. Wait for TV to come on. Press the white “SAT” button on the top left of remote to “resume session”. Then use the arrow buttons and select button to choose your channel. Also use the “Guide” button to view all channel options. To turn off: press the small red “tv” button. Master Bedroom TV: Use the Dish remote only. Same as living room, but TV responds more slowly. Be patient and wait up to 10 seconds after pushing the red “tv” button. You will hear the TV come on and then press the white “SAT” button to resume the viewing session. To turn off, press the small red “tv” button. Loft TV: turn TV on with the Sanyo TV remote (press blue button in top right corner). Then, using the DISH remote, press the select button to resume the watching session. Use the arrow buttons and select button to select your channel. Turn TV off using the Sanyo TV remote – press blue power button to turn off. NOTE: is there is a short time between viewing sessions, the TV will come on right away after pressing the blue power button on the Sanyo TV remote. Thank you. WASHER & DRYER--There is a washer and dryer located in the hallway of the condo. These two machines are small capacity. Please do not overload them as they will not work or wash properly. It can also damage the unit. WASHER--Place only ONE detergent pod directly into machine with clothes. Please do not overload the washer. DRYER--To use dryer, clean out lint trap first. Place the correct size load into dryer and close door. This dryer is a “European style” non-vented dryer. Please allow double drying times. If your clothes normally take 60 minutes to dry, please allow 120 minutes for this dryer. We are sorry for any inconvenience, but the Wren building does not allow vented dryers. Please do not overload the dryer. BUILDING LAUNDRY AREA--CODE 534 (enter this code to lock on door to gain entry). If you need to do additional laundry, there is a full laundry room located on the second floor of the Wren by the elevator. There are three full size washing machines and four drying machines. These are coin operated and change is available at the front office. DISHWASHER--The soap dispenser of the dishwasher may require an extra firm push or two to get the door of the dispenser to close. FIREPLACE--The gas fireplace in the living area has a thermostat/control box on the left side of the fireplace. It’s a white small box attached to the stone. It has a timer to conserve energy and for safety. To turn on Fireplace: firmly press the small gray button (ON button) once. Wait approx. 5-8 seconds and you will hear a beep and the fireplace will immediately come on with a nice flame. The flames cannot be adjusted. The ON button can be pressed up to three times to provide up to 90 minutes of on-time. You will see a small “30, 60, or 90” in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. At the end of the time period, the fireplace will shut off automatically. The OFF button will reduce the timer and turn the unit off. If the control timer is not operational, it may be that the batteries are dead within the control box and need to be replaced. There is a small plastic cover on the far side of the control box that is visible and can be slid open to access the batteries. New batteries can be placed into the unit for operation, if needed. Extra batteries are in the kitchen drawer. COMMUNITY ROOM--CODE 0534 (enter code to door lock to gain entry) The community room is on the ground floor located by the pool area. It is available at anytime using the code provided. (NOTE: check with Wren front office to see if sign up times are required or if the room is closed due to pandemic). This area provides a sitting area with a large TV screen, a fireplace along with a pool table with additional tables and chairs. Typically, there is a wine and cheese party provided by The Wren on Tuesday from 4PM to 6PM. There is a sign-up sheet at the front desk area as ten attendees are required for The Wren to host the party. It can be fun to have a beverage and meet others staying at The Wren during your week, so stop in and say hello to others. WREN SHUTTLE--The Wren provides its own shuttle service that operates daily during the ski season. Even though the ski lifts are within walking distance, the shuttle provides the best and easiest way to and from the lifts. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes in the AM and every 30 minutes in the PM. The most current schedule for the shuttle is available at the front desk, so be sure to pick up a copy. The shuttle provides three drop-off/pick-up locations, Golden Peak, Vail Village and Lionshead. We find Golden Peak to be the easiest and fastest access to the mountain on most days. Knowing your pick-up time and locations can make getting back to the Wren property a cinch. TRASH and RECYCLABLES--Trash bags are provided under the sink. Please remove trash and recyclables from the condo on a regular basis. There is a large wooden trash bin and blue recycle bins by the elevator where trash and recyclables can easily be placed.
